Before construction can begin on any major utility facility within the state of Ohio, a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need must be obtained from the Ohio Power Siting Board.
All developers need to obtain a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need, following the Standard Application Process Flowchart (on the right).
The OPSB follows a robust and transparent approval process and assigns full-time staff to answer your questions regarding the projects and process.
